Step 3: Installing and Using Spybot Software
In this step you will install and run the Spybot software. Like Adaware Spybot is a program that detects and deletes spyware off of your machine. The free version of Spybot will look for and detect spyware that Adaware did not get. Each spyware program has a definition list of different spyware it looks for. If a particular spyware program is not on the definition list, then the spyware program will miss it. And that is the beauty of the Spyware fix, if one FREE program didn't get it, the other will!!! If you already have the Spybot software you can skip the installation process.
Installation of the free version of Spybot
1. Download the Spybot Software here: Free Spybot Search and Destroy
2. If you save it you must go and open the setup file (spybotsd14.exe). If you choose to run it, the program will start automatically.
3. Click through the screens as described below: -Select language and Ok -> Next -> (Check, I accept the agreement.) Next -> Next -> (Keep these checked) Next -> Next -> (Only UNCHECK, Create a Quick Launch icon.) Next. -Click Install and then Finish (Keep the Run SpybotSD.exe box checked. It will run the setup file after you click Finish.

Setting Up your Spybot Software
Lets set up your free version of Spybot. Unlike Adaware Spybot needs some setting up. Here we go!!!
1. If you just installed it and keep the Run SpybotSD.exe checked then the setup screen will pop up automatically. If not go to your desktop and click on the Spybot Search and Destroy icon.
2. Click Ok -> Now click Create a registry backup (it may take a few minutes) and then Next.
3. Click on Search for Updates and then Download all available updates and the Next.
4. Click Immunize the system and the Next.
5. It will restart the program and you are now ready for your first scan.

Run a Spybot Software Scan
1. Running a scan is really simple. Go to the icon and open Spybot Search and Destroy.
2. Click on Check for problems and it will start scanning, which could take up to 15-20 minutes.
3. Once it is done click on, Fix selected problems.
4. Click Yes when the confirmation notice comes up.
5. It will tell you how many problems were fixed and click Ok.
6. Sometimes the program reports that some spyware problems could not be fixed until the computer is restarted. If so restart your computer and the Spybot software will scan it automatically.
