Step 5: Spywareblaster
This part of the Spyware fix is to download and install Spywareblaster. 3.5.1 Spywareblaster is really great because you run it once and forget about it. It is a small program that runs in the background and defends your computer against spyware threats and the Spywareblaster download is free!!! Instead of cleaning your PC like most of these programs it defends it from ever being installed on your computer. Spywareblaster prevents the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, dialers, browser hijackers, and other potentially unwanted programs. It can also block spyware/tracking cookies in IE and Firefox, and restrict the actions of spyware/ad/tracking sites.
Installation of Spywareblaster
1. Download Spywareblaster here: Spywareblaster Download
2. If you save it you must go and open the setup file (spybotsd14.exe), if you choose run it will start automatically.
3. Click through the screens like this:
- Next -> Click (I accept the agreement) Next -> Next -> Next -> (Keep this box checked) Next -> Install -> Finish (Either run it now on you can run it later by going to your desktop and clicking on the icon.)

Setting Up Spywareblaster
Next we’ll set up the program and then you can, set it and forget it.
- The program will start and a “Getting Started” menu will start. Click Next -> Next -> Finish.
This is really the easiest program to setup. All you have to do is 2 simple steps:
1. On the left hand side click on Updates. Click the Check for updates button. It may take a few minutes to update. The free Spywareblaster download version doesn’t have an auto update option so you will have to update the software manually.
2. The next step is to click on the Protection tab the left. Go to the bottom of the screen and click on Enable All Protection. It may take a minute or so and that’s it.
3. Close out of the program and you are done. It will automatically start when windows starts. You will not even know it is running.
