Step 11: Should I use my Window XP Firewall?

This is a great question to ask and we’ll try to help you answer it.  A Window XP Firewall helps to keep your computer safe and secure.  It is a line of defense from people (other computers, programs, viruses) getting to your computer without invitation.  It will not get rid of a virus but it will help to block viruses and worms from reaching your computer.

Do you use your Window XP Firewall and should I?

Well I will be honest with you.  I disable Window firewall because I feel the other tools described in the Spyware fix helps from such attacks.  And I also believe it slows my computer down a little.    But I think you should USE your Window XP Firewall.  Why, because it is a great line of defense and although it slows down your computer a little, it is a great tool to use and is FREE.  The most important thing it does is Help block computer viruses and worms from reaching your computer.  Visit the link below on how to use your Window XP firewall but if you insist on not using it, I have included instructions on How to Disable Window Firewall.
